Comedian the late Lee Ji-soo has been dead for three years.
The late Lee Ji-soo was found dead in her rented room in Mangwon-dong, Seoul, on Jul. 9, 2023. She was 30.
At the time of her death, Lee Ji-soo had been diagnosed with pyelonephritis and other conditions after experiencing high fever and was hospitalized, and after being discharged she lost contact after finishing a conversation with her mother. Worried family members found her when they visited her home, and since she had been in contact with acquaintances until the afternoon of the 5th, it is presumed that she died sometime between the night of the 5th and the early morning of the 6th while she was asleep.
Lee Ji-soo's bereaved family said, "Because she lived alone, she was apart from her family and, despite suffering from a high fever, she endured it and did not tell anyone. Perhaps because it became too hard, she contacted her mother and was taken to the hospital, and she was hospitalized, but she was discharged on the 4th, about a week later. They say she was diagnosed with pyelonephritis at that time, and although her condition was not good, she left because it seemed the hospital was hurrying to discharge her," they added.
Meanwhile, Lee Ji-soo was from Yoon Hyung-bin's small theater and debuted in 2021 on tvN's Comedy Big League.
On Comedy Big League, she was active in segments including "Odongnamu Enter," "Kobig Enter," "Taste sniper," "Flashback," and "My business diary," and before her death she joined the crew of a terrestrial comedy program, where she reportedly devoted herself to idea meetings and rehearsals with colleagues.
As news of her death reached the industry just before her terrestrial debut, the comedy community was shocked, and Comedy Big League conveyed a condolence message saying, "Comedy Big League remembers comedian Lee Ji-soo, who was more sincere about laughter than anyone. We will not forget your passion for laughter. We wish the deceased peace."
