The film "Hope" raises anticipation starting with the main trailer.
On the 6th, the team behind the film "Hope" (director Na Hong-jin, produced by Forged Films, co-produced by Plus M Entertainment·West World, provided/distributed by Plus M Entertainment) released the international main trailer.
"Hope" is a film about Beom-seok, the chief of the Hopohang Branch Office located in the demilitarized zone, who hears from local youths that a tiger has appeared, and the whole village is put on alert as it encounters an unbelievable reality that marks the beginning of the story. It is the new work of director Na Hong-jin, who was previously praised for "The Chaser," "The Yellow Sea" and "The Wailing."
In particular, "Hope" was officially invited to compete in the competition section at the 79th Cannes Film Festival, drawing attention from film fans around the world. With the international main trailer officially unveiled, anticipation has been heightened.
In Korea, "Hope" will officially open on the 15th. Following that, Taiwan distributor Kai Chang plans to present the film as the second market. The international main trailer released accordingly began with the residents of Hopohang recounting their sightings of the creature that attacked the village.
In Hopohang, isolated from the outside without reinforcement, aliens reveal themselves before those trying to protect the village, and the situation accelerates in earnest. The original narrative and unpredictable pace unleash explosive energy.
Thus, within the 1 minute 30 second trailer, the film delivers the fun of a work whose genre shifts moment to moment, pure action born from the clash between humans and 3D creatures, and spectacle crafted by Korea's top staff through perfect collaboration.
Following "The Wailing," director Na Hong-jin and cinematographer Hong Kyung-pyo, who teamed up for the second time, created highly accomplished mise-en-scène and a classic action style in which the actors perform and are filmed directly, showcasing the unique style of "Hope." In addition, the 3D creature characters created with motion capture and facial capture technology increase curiosity with their distinct appearances and characteristics.
Furthermore, the international main trailer for "Hope" uses the OST by music director Michael Abels, who participated in "Get Out," "Us" and "Nope." Recorded at the Synchron Stage Vienna in Austria with about 70 musicians, the music, unfolding with rich instrumentation and varied melodies, blends with "Hope"'s colorful and bold spectacle and raises the viewer's heart rate throughout the trailer.<
