TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) Yeonjun showcases an even clearer musical world of his own with his second solo album.
Yeonjun will release the mini album No Labels: Part 02 on the 10th. It is a sequel following last year's first solo album and is the second chapter of the No Labels project, which captures Yeonjun as he is, stripped of labels.
This album is a work that more firmly shows the identity of solo artist Yeonjun. If his first solo activity was a declaration marking a new start, this time he focused on proving his potential through music and performance.
No Labels is the core keyword running through Yeonjun's solo activities. He showcased a musical charm different from the group with his first solo mixtape in 2024, GGUM (껌), and in the mini album No Labels: Part 01 released last year, he participated in songwriting, composition and performance planning, earning recognition for his capabilities as a solo artist. In particular, he earned praise by showing powerful stage presence with the hard rock title track Talk to You.
The new album offers a deeper "Yeonjun core." It expands his musical spectrum by encompassing various genres such as rap rock, funk rock, R&B, pop and alternative hip hop.
Yeonjun participated in writing the lyrics for two songs, "Even if I'm a little clumsy, again (Baby Wassup?)" and "Long Way Long Ride," infusing them with his sensibility. He also directly contributed to creating the performance for the title track "Ice Cream," completing not only the music but the stage in his own color.
The title track "Ice Cream" is about a cool relationship in which two people are sweet to each other but keep a certain distance. It is a punk rock track featuring vintage drums, an addictive bass and guitar riffs with a late Spanish-tinged sound added, and like its title it promises a Yeonjun-style summer song that will cool this summer.
Meanwhile, Yeonjun is scheduled to appear on Aug. 7 (local time) on the Summer Concert Series staged by Good Morning America, ABC's flagship morning program in the United States, and expectations are high as he will be only the second K-pop solo artist to appear, following BTS's Jungkook.
