Writer So Jae-won directly addressed the 'abusive rumor' related to actor Lee Junyoung.
Writer So Jae-won recently posted on her social media, along with an article about Lee Junyoung, a statement saying, I! Ah! Nip! Ni! Da! — indicating she was the person who said such things to actor Lee Junyoung.
The article concerned the preview of the cable channel tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block that was released earlier, and Lee Junyoung, a former idol turned actor, revealed an episode about being hurt while acting and said, "Being told 'don't cause trouble for actors' was the most hurtful."
After the preview was released, when writer So Jae-won, who wrote the script for the drama I Want to Say Goodbye (literal translation: The Farewell Left) — one of the early works from the beginning of Lee Junyoung's transition to acting — was pointed out as the person behind that remark, she directly clarified her position.
Writer So Jae-won said, "It is true that actor Lee Junyoung appeared in my work. The time he appeared in my work was 2018, and it seems I became the target because it was around when Junyoung actor properly began acting," adding, "I have never once hurt any actor with such low comments. Sending DMs that assume and insult is a very rash action."
She went on to say an anecdote: "Even after the work ended, at the wrap party I said, 'I guarantee Junyoung will be remembered by fans more as an actor than as a singer,' showing my recognition and respect for actor Lee Junyoung and expressing admiration for his effort and passion."
Writer So Jae-won added, "I frankly told the past story, and if my story is not true, actor Junyoung or his agency can respond," and "I wondered why so many mocking DMs were coming, and it seems this is the news. I am an insufficient writer, and I would never put such words in my mouth."
Writer So Jae-won is the original author of the films Beasty Boys and Wish, and Tunnel, and she participated in the drama I Want to Say Goodbye (literal translation: The Farewell Left) and the films Mr. Zoo: The Missing VIP and Air Murder, among others.
