"Hangout With Yoo" is driving to No. 1 among Saturday variety shows, led by Yu Jae-seok with junior comedians shining.
On the 4th, MBC's variety show "Hangout With Yoo" (shortened to "Nolmwo") aired an episode titled "Nolmwo diary." Led by Yu Jae-seok, fixed members Haha, Joo Woo-jae and others met with breakout comedians Kwak Beom and Kim Won-hoon. They gathered at a filming site in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, and performed as the "Nolmwo Village" youth association.
The "Nolmwo Village" youth association watched together the recent soccer match between Korea and South Africa at the "2026 North and Central America World Cup." When only Yu Jae-seok was picked for an errand and couldn't watch the first half, the younger members deliberately raised their cheers to tease Yu. Irritated, Yu rushed to finish the errand but still missed the first half.
In the second half, Haha, Joo Woo-jae and Kwak Beom drew the short straw to work in the potato field and couldn't watch the match, creating a farcical scene. Joo and Kwak tried a trick by harvesting extra potatoes to prep for the next bet, and Haha even plundered potatoes from the younger members.
However, despite the "Nolmwo" members' fierce efforts, the Korean team lost 1-0 to South Africa and was eliminated from the World Cup group stage. The unexpected, shocking defeat sharply subdued the mood on "Nolmwo." Even Yu Jae-seok, who said, "Even if soccer is a loss, your mood shouldn't become your attitude," reacted prickly. He eventually said, "Let's not talk about soccer from now on," yet couldn't hide the lingering grumpiness, drawing laughs.
At the field's "natural water playground," Heo Kyunghwan suffered a wardrobe disaster when his pants ripped, leaving him bottomless. As Heo tried and failed to cover his lower body with a tube, Haha teased, saying, "If you watch Coachella, there are a lot of people like that," adding to the laughter.
Then Kim Won-hoon made a surprise appearance. Having even auditioned for the "Nolmwo" short-form drama earlier, he showed tenacity, saying, "I'll come even if I'm not invited." Kwak Beom then exposed the comedians' rumor about "Nolmwo" bookings: "Even if you don't get an official guest booking, it's rumored that if you show up, senior (Yu Jae-seok) accepts you," sending everyone into peals of laughter.
In fact, since Heo Kyunghwan joined recently, "Nolmwo" has been praised for guest turns by various comedians. Led by Yang Sang-guk, who helped drive the "War of Money" series, comedians including Lee Yongjin, Lee Sun-min, Kwak Beom and Kim Won-hoon have appeared in droves, excelling together and individually.
Buoyed by this, "Nolmwo" recorded a 4% household rating in the national metropolitan area that day. The 20-54 rating was also 2.6%, No. 1 among Saturday variety shows airing the same day and in its time slot. The minute-by-minute peak hit 5.4% during Heo Kyunghwan's bottomless moment. Centered on Yu Jae-seok, the junior comedians' performances are delivering laughs.
