Comedian Shin Bong-Sun spoke candidly about her concerns over marriage and revealed preparations for old age to prepare for a future living alone.
In a recently released YouTube channel video, Shin Bong-Sun met comedian Kim In Suk and revealed her true feelings about dating and marriage.
When Kim In Suk asked "What are your plans for marriage? Aren't you a comedian hunter?", Shin Bong-Sun laughed and answered, "I really have nothing. If a senior introduced a man to me, that person would become the only man in my life. Isn't there anyone decent around me?"
When Kim In Suk suggested "Try getting along with Hong Kyung-jun", Shin Bong-Sun revealed with laughter, "He's a neighborhood friend, so I asked, 'Can you date me for just three months?' and he freaked out."
But behind the laughter were realistic worries. Shin Bong-Sun asked seriously, "I can't even meet anyone at the tennis gatherings. They're all young and don't see me as a woman. Almost all of them are married. Why can't I get married?"
To this, Kim In Suk advised, "I used to have my standards a bit too high. There were opportunities to meet people, but I missed some by myself," and Shin Bong-Sun candidly revealed, "People just think I can't get married because I'm ugly."
Meanwhile, Shin Bong-Sun also expressed her thoughts on marriage on the May 5 broadcast of SBS My Little Old Boy. Appearing noticeably slimmer, she humorously replied to the Mobengers' compliments, "I'll be prettier tomorrow," bringing laughter.
When Seo Jang-hoon mentioned, "All your ex-boyfriends were tall and handsome," Shin Bong-Sun coolly retorted, "They all already have families," provoking bursts of laughter. Shin Bong-Sun, 47 this year, said her last relationship was in her 30s and joked, "Until my 30s people paired me a lot with a cute image, but when I turned 40 it suddenly stopped."
Still, she said she has already started realistic preparations for old age. Shin Bong-Sun confessed, "A 10-year pension plan into which I put 1,000,000 won per month since my late 20s has matured," and "I'm practicing living happily and enjoyably on my own," attracting attention. While her worries about marriage continue, her steady preparation for standing alone resonated with many as a realistic approach.
