Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey, who was embroiled in multiple sexual scandal allegations including those involving minors, expressed his feelings after ending legal disputes.
Kevin Spacey appeared on the podcast "Club Random" on the 29th (local time) and spoke about the sexual assault and rape trials.
Earlier, Kevin Spacey was engulfed in a minor sexual scandal in 2017 following accusations by actor Anthony Rapp. Anthony Rapp claimed that in 1986, when he was 14, he was sexually assaulted by Kevin Spacey, who was 26 at the time.
As a result, Kevin Spacey was removed from the Netflix hit series "House of Cards," and he was subsequently embroiled in multiple lawsuits alleging same-sex sexual assault and rape.
Kevin Spacey denied all charges and was found not liable in a $40 million civil lawsuit filed in 2022 on charges including rape (about 61.2 billion won). He was also acquitted of nine sexual offense charges, including rape, in a 2023 criminal trial in London, and in March he settled out of court with three men who said they were raped by him between 2000 and 2013.
On "Club Random," Kevin Spacey said he felt "much more welcomed (in Hollywood)." He said, "I have won in every court with a jury," and noted, "Some are true, but later are reinterpreted, reconstructed, or completely fabricated. The Anthony Rapp case is exactly that kind of case."
He added, "It feels less like prison than before. I know people didn't pay much attention to the details when they looked at the cases, and seeing that I won in court, they might think 'nine years was enough.' If I were an athlete, I would have sat on the bench for seven games," and said, "I think this is when people are actually starting to look into what really happened. I feel much more welcomed, and I think things are moving in the direction we expected."
Meanwhile, Kevin Spacey, who made a surprise return with a cameo in the 2022 independent film The Man Who Drew God (L'uomo che disegnò Dio), is set to open the indie thriller "The Awakening."
