Voice actor Kang Hee-seon has died.
According to her bereaved family, voice actor Kang Hee-seon passed away in the early morning of the 4th. She was 66.
Kang Hee-seon, who debuted in 1979 as part of the 15th class of KBS public recruitment voice actors, worked on animations such as "Mobile Suit Gundam," "Detective Conan," "Anne of Green Gables," "Sailor Moon," "Olympus Guardian," and "Tangu and Ullashon," and was the regular Korean voice for Sharon Stone in foreign films. She was especially familiar for her role as Shin-chan's mother Bong Mi-seon in "Crayon Shin-chan."
Kang Hee-seon, who served as the 30th president of the KBS voice actors association, received the prime minister's citation at the 9th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards in 2018 and the voice actor award at the 18th Korea Broadcasting Producers Awards in 2006.
Since stepping down from "Crayon Shin-chan" in August last year, concern had grown. While appearing on "You Quiz on the Block," voice actor Kang Hee-seon said, "Actually it's been four years. A problem was found in my colon during a health check, and it spread to my liver. It became about 17. I received chemotherapy 47 times," revealing she had been battling cancer.
Meanwhile, the funeral hall has been set up in Room 31 of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital funeral hall. The funeral procession will be at 7:40 a.m. on the 6th, and the burial site is Yongin Park Honor Stone.
