'2 Days & 1 Night' new maknae Lee Ki Taek announced the birth of a new "national maknae" after his first broadcast.
On the 5th, the KBS 2TV entertainment program 2 Days & 1 Night season 4 (hereinafter 2 Days & 1 Night) will unveil the first story of the "Route 7 healing trip," a trip taken by six members.
At the show's full opening, the members share afterstories of the new members Lee Yongjin and Lee Ki Taek, who recently received explosive responses from viewers. In particular, the older members said, "Ki Taek has properly settled in the hearts of the people. He has especially become the "favorite" of mothers," and launched a relay of praise toward the maknae, creating a warm atmosphere.
In response, Lee Ki Taek confessed, "I recently went to a pharmacy and the mothers said, 'I enjoyed 2 Days & 1 Night, don't get sick,' and were full of concern," recounting an episode that made him realize his changed status and popularity after just one episode. Another new member, Lee Yongjin, also relayed a candid review from his wife after experiencing a harsh outdoor sleep on the first broadcast, reportedly turning the scene into a sea of laughter.
The changed mood was short-lived; fitting the concept of a "healing trip," the production team caused great confusion among the members by offering unlimited lunch, saying, "Eat as much as you want." Faced with an unprecedented "all-you-can-refill" favor in 2 Days & 1 Night history, the members continued to argue without letting go of their suspicious looks.
The real crisis came next. During the "Route 7" race connecting Goseong County, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, and Busan Metropolitan City, a penalty was revealed: if they did not reach the base camp within the time limit, they would have to walk to the final destination.
Although speed was vital for the mission, the members were delayed by unexpected variables and faced the worst-case scenario of having to walk for more than nine hours. Viewers' anticipation for the broadcast rises as questions mount about whether the six members can safely enter the base camp amid an unprecedented crisis in which filming might end while they are still walking.
Meanwhile, 2 Days & 1 Night season 4 will air on the 5th at 6:10 p.m.
