Actor Im Soo-hyang reaffirmed her presence on stage by successfully completing the first performance of the play "The Lives of Others."
Im Soo-hyang took the stage for the first performance of the play "The Lives of Others" on the U+ Stage at LG Arts Center Seoul on the 2nd.
The play "The Lives of Others" is set in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall and deals with government surveillance and wiretapping of artists. It tightly portrays the psychological changes experienced when Stasi officer Wiesler begins to surveil East Germany's top playwright Dreyman and the popular actress couple Christa.
In the play, Im Soo-hyang played the role of the popular actress Christa-Maria Sieland and delicately unraveled the character's complex emotions. Despite her supreme talent, Im Soo-hyang calmly built up Christa's inner life, who lives with anxiety about her position and life, and as the play progressed, she powerfully expressed the increasingly shaken emotions.
In particular, Im Soo-hyang calibrated the psyche tormented at the crossroads of anxiety and conflict, love and choice with a steady breath, maximizing audience immersion.
Having been active in various fields such as drama and variety shows, Im Soo-hyang made her first stage acting challenge in 2023 with the play "Our Little Sister." In this "The Lives of Others," she once again expanded her musical and acting spectrum as an actress by showing deeper emotional expression and overwhelming stage command. The play "The Lives of Others" runs at the U+ Stage at LG Arts Center Seoul through Sept. 13.
Meanwhile, Im Soo-hyang raised her voice by joining the abandoned animal protection campaign "Give & Love" in February, and on May 30 she personally led the "Soo-hyang X Mini No-harm Run" event held to commemorate Environment Day.<
