Actor Um Ki-joon opened up about his honest feelings toward his wife and their life as newlyweds seven months into marriage.
On the March 3 broadcast of MBN 'Jun Hyun-moo plan 4', Ryu Soo-young and Um Ki-joon, who are appearing together in the musical 'The Days', appeared as the first guests of season 4.
That day Um Ki-joon introduced the work, saying, "'The Days' will resonate more because the songs are familiar, and it's a piece you can enjoy more the second time you see it."
Um Ki-joon, who married in Dec. 2024, also revealed how he first met his wife. When Jun Hyun-moo asked, "How did you meet?", Um Ki-joon laughed and said, "We just met naturally. I was smitten," adding, "At that moment I first thought, 'If this person is around, I could spend my later years laughing more.' I became convinced it would be much better than being alone."
At this, Jun Hyun-moo could not hide his envious expression. A realistic answer followed the questions about married life.
Um Ki-joon candidly said, "It's so good. I'm falling for her again," then recounted, "They say you fight like crazy for the first year after marriage. That really happened," drawing laughter. He continued, "My wife reduced drinking and smoking with the goal of living healthily," and said, "I had lived alone for more than 20 years, so at first it felt like interference."
However, he said, "After many fights, we have come to understand and know each other," conveying a strengthened marital relationship that warmed hearts.
