U.S. pop star Taylor Swift and National Football League (NFL) player Travis Kelce will marry on the 3rd (local time) at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York. About 1,000 celebrity guests are expected to attend.
According to a New York City government permit document related to Swift's wedding obtained by The Associated Press and CNN, the ceremony is set to begin at 5 p.m. that day and continue until early the next morning. New York police plan to control nearby roads before and after the event hours.
MSG is the home arena of the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). It is not typically used for weddings, but it can accommodate a large number of people and has few windows, minimizing exposure to the outside.
About 1,000 guests were invited to the main wedding event. According to The New York Times, actor Bradley Cooper and model Gigi Hadid, as well as Kansas City Chiefs players, were spotted throughout New York.
Swift began dating Kelce publicly in 2023 and got engaged last year. CNN described the wedding as the most-watched event since the 2011 wedding of Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton.
