Singer Yoon Jongshin cited "Joeni" as the song that brought him the most copyright royalties among about 600 songs he released over 30 years.
On the March 3 broadcast of KBS2 entertainment show Problem Child in House, Yoon Jongshin, who marked his 30th anniversary since debut, appeared.
That day Yoon Jongshin said, "I released about 600 songs over 30 years," and when asked which song recorded the most copyright royalties, he answered, "'Joeni'."
In particular, he recalled, "'Joeni' is a song I only participated in writing the lyrics for," and "about two months later it suddenly rose to No. 1 on the music charts and continued to stay at the top." He added, "At the time my rivals were Wanna One and Sunmi," and joked, "Idols should have been No. 1, but unintentionally I was, so I'm sorry," drawing laughter.
Still, he said, "I still felt good," and analyzed the reason for the royalties, saying, "'Joeni' seemed to have been sung a lot in karaoke. It was a favorite song among men."
He said that before "Joeni," "Instinctively" was his representative money-making song. Yoon Jongshin expressed gratitude, saying, "Thanks to Kang Seung Yoon remaking it, a lot of royalties came in."
He also mentioned songs he gave to other singers that became hits. He said, "Sung Si Kyung's 'On the street', 'You were moving', 'One more goodbye' are also memorable," and revealed, "The first song I had that reached No. 1 was Han Ye Seul's 'You're different'," attracting attention. Hearing this, Hong Jin Kyung said, "I didn't know" in surprise, and Song Eun I admired, "When joking she can be endlessly light, but when she talks about her main work a halo shines," drawing laughter.
