Monk Seonjae revealed why he became a monk.
On the 3rd, the YouTube channel 'Lee Chang-seop & Jo Chang-seop' posted a video titled "What happens when Monk Seonjae is your aunt."
On that day, Lee Chang-seop, who met Monk Seonjae, mentioned his grants on Culinary Class Wars 2 and said, "One day I suddenly got a text. 'Are you Monk Seonjae's nephew?' So I heard Monk Seonjae was appearing on Culinary Class Wars 2," he said.
He added, "But when he appeared there and said Chang-seop is his nephew, that surfaced. I think I got about 40 texts then. So that's huge power in the entertainment industry. He's family with the monk," he joked.
Also, Lee Chang-seop asked Monk Seonjae about behind-the-scenes stories of his grants on Culinary Class Wars 2. Monk Seonjae opened up, saying, "As a culinary practitioner, I thought I should heal the world's pain. So I should now share it with people, through broadcasts and such."
In particular, Monk Seonjae said he was contacted by Culinary Class Wars while he had been lecturing nonstop for 30 years. He said, "I hesitated and told them I would appear only twice. I told them to eliminate me, but I went all the way," he said.
He added with a laugh, "At the end I asked Chef Hou Deok-juk to finish and send me home."
Meanwhile, Monk Seonjae, designated temple cuisine master No. 1, drew attention last year when his relationship with Lee Chang-seop became public after he grants on Netflix's Culinary Class Wars 2.
