Singer Yoon Jongshin candidly recounted the time he suffered from burnout and panic disorder, and also shared the recent status of his three quickly grown children.
On the 3rd, Yoon Jongshin, who marked his 35th debut anniversary, appeared on KBS2 Problem Child in House. Appearing with a striking white hair style, he directly explained why he suddenly stopped broadcasting activities in 2019.
Yoon Jongshin said "After doing broadcasts for more than 20 years, I kept telling the production team for two years before I quit Radio Star that I seemed to be getting burnout," he began.
He went on, "I felt lethargy even during recordings. The broadcasts went fine, but after they ended I couldn't remember them. It felt like I was doing the show formally," recalling the time. He confessed, "It was very hard to endure. I thought panic disorder was something that happened to others," and "I was resting for a while when suddenly I felt like I couldn't breathe. Later I learned those were symptoms of panic disorder. That made me feel that rest was really necessary."
Afterward, Yoon Jongshin, who went to the United States, was stranded there by the unexpected COVID-19 pandemic. He said, "Originally I planned to travel around freely, but when COVID broke out worldwide I became trapped in the U.S."
Even in difficult circumstances he did not give up music. Yoon Jongshin said, "Music was the only breakthrough during that blocked period," and calmly conveyed, "I learned the 'aesthetics of stopping' by singing in the streets and nature. I think everyone needs this kind of time at least once."
He especially revealed the recent status of his three children that day. Yoon Jongshin said, "The children have really grown a lot," and laughed, "The eldest Ra-ik is 178 cm tall, and my wife said, 'Your genes blocked him from reaching 180.'"
He added, "They all like exercise, and the second child Ra-im likes singing, so she often hums in front of me," and showed a beaming fatherly smile
