Actress Oh Yoon-ah cried as she personally announced her remarriage 11 years after her divorce. She also expressed gratitude to her fiancé and future in-laws for warmly embracing her son Min-yi, who has a developmental disability.
On the 3rd, a video titled "Oh Yoon-ah new start" was posted on the YouTube channel 'Oh! Yoon-ah'.
That day Oh Yoon-ah said, "I wondered if I should tell this," and cautiously opened up, saying, "I debated a lot about whether I should share this remarriage news with you. I wanted to reveal it first on my YouTube."
She continued, "Subscribers have always sincerely supported me. Many of you said you wanted to see me meet someone good and live happily, and suddenly I am crying," showing a choked-up expression.
Oh Yoon-ah married a non-celebrity in 2007 but divorced in 2015. Since then she has raised her son Song Min, who has a developmental disability, on her own and received much support.
She confessed, "I raised my child alone for such a long time. The biggest priority in my life was my child," and "The reason I hesitated to marry was because of my child. I thought I would live like this forever, but I met a really good person and decided to remarry."
She especially expressed gratitude toward her future in-laws. Oh Yoon-ah said, "My parents-in-law are truly wonderful people. They really accepted Min like a grandson," and "It is really not an easy thing. I thought it would not be possible unless it was fate," she said. She added, "My fiancé also accepted the child very comfortably and considers me a lot," showing affection. Regarding the identity of the groom-to-be, she drew a line, saying, "The person I am marrying is a non-celebrity, a private individual, so it is a more cautious matter."
She also honestly explained why the remarriage announcement was delayed. Oh Yoon-ah said, "Actually it has been a while since I made the decision," and "It didn't feel like a 'We're getting married!' excited announcement, so I was cautious. So I thought it would be better to greet you first on YouTube," she said. As she continued speaking she showed tears again, choking up, "Why are so many tears coming out. I'm crying again."
Finally Oh Yoon-ah said, "I wanted to tell my subscribers first, who look upon me with only good eyes," and "I will continue to live hard after marriage as I do now. Please continue to support Min a lot as you do now and watch over me kindly as well. I am always really grateful for your support," she conveyed sincerely.
