DAY6 member Dowoon directly addressed the rumors of dating YouTuber Yoo Ji-yoo and even marriage.
On the 28th, Dowoon said, "Our team will never disappear. I'm not going anywhere; don't even look at negative posts and for the time being, even if posts about me appear, ignore them. I'm sorry for hurting you all. Please wait a little."
This is Dowoon's first comment on the dating and marriage rumors involving Yoo Ji-yoo. Recently, posts alleging a romantic relationship between Dowoon and Yoo Ji-yoo spread through online communities.
There were suspicions based on "lovestagram" posts, and the dating rumors intensified when a photo circulated on an acquaintance's social media showing a dog of the same breed as Yoo Ji-yoo's pet riding inside a car that appeared to belong to Yoon Dowoon, including couple items.
As a result, Yoo Ji-yoo's social media and YouTube channel were flooded with comments demanding fact-checking, and fans also bombarded Dowoon with requests for an explanation. Dowoon's agency, JYP Entertainment, told OSEN, "We have no comment," and refrained from elaborating.
The fallout grew after suspicions arose that Dowoon and Yoo Ji-yoo were not merely dating but preparing for marriage. Since last year, eyewitness accounts that Dowoon consulted with a wedding planner circulated on online communities.
Some fans expressed disappointment at the allegation that Dowoon was preparing for marriage at a time when he should be focusing on team activities. Yoo Ji-yoo is the younger sister of Yoo Hye-ju, who runs the parenting YouTube channel LIJULIKE, and previously appeared on 'Ulzzang Generation 5.' She runs the 'buddle_u' channel as an influencer; she had a boyfriend for nine years but announced their breakup in January last year.
