'PerfectLife' actor Lee Hyo-jung and his wife Kim Mi-ran appeared on the show and confessed health warning signs caused by diabetes.
On the afternoon of the 27th broadcast, TV CHOSUN 'PerfecTLife' featured actor Lee Hyo-jung and his wife revealing a new challenge for their second act in life.
Lee Hyo-jung said the reason for appearing was "my wife was diagnosed with diabetes four years ago and is managing it." He added, "I am also in a prediabetic stage. I am mindful of diabetes and paying attention to it," noting that the couple is focusing on managing their blood sugar together.
On that day Kim Mi-ran said that before being diagnosed with diabetes she experienced leg cramps every night, surprising the cast. In fact, at the time of testing Kim Mi-ran's fasting blood sugar was 430 and her glycated hemoglobin approached 13%. Husband Lee Hyo-jung also recorded a fasting blood sugar of 120–125 and a glycated hemoglobin of 6.3%, entering the prediabetic stage.
Lee Hyo-jung has gone so far as to look up medical papers himself to control his and his wife's blood sugar, but he lamented that "it's not as easy as I thought," drawing attention to their private hardships.<
