Actor Kim Cheol-yoon has unexpectedly joined the film "The Outlaws 5" and will team up with Don Lee.
The fifth installment of The Outlaws series, which became the first Korean film series to reach the 'triple 10 million' milestone and surpassed 40 million cumulative viewers, depicts a crime suppression operation in which Ma Seok-do (Don Lee) pursues Lee Gang-tae (Kim Jaeyeong), who after eight years of waiting begins committing the worst crimes.
Kim Cheol-yoon plays detective Kang Jin-su, a member of Metropolitan Investigation Unit 1 led by Ma Seok-do, injecting vitality into the film. Kang Jin-su is a key figure among the five detectives of Unit 1 and is a character who plays an active role on the front lines of the crime suppression operation. Kim Cheol-yoon is expected to portray the character three-dimensionally based on his distinctive realistic acting and weighty presence.
So far, Kim Cheol-yoon has proven solid acting skills by taking on a variety of characters regardless of genre. In the tvN drama Typhoon Family, he played the Thai mixed-heritage character Go Ha-neul, showing lively charm, and in the Disney+ The Murky Stream he played the thug Jung-bok, delicately acting out the complex emotions hidden behind a rough exterior, earning praise.
Having stamped his unique acting color on every work, expectations are high to see what new face and charm Kim Cheol-yoon will use to captivate audiences in Korea's top-grossing series The Outlaws 5.
