Actor Ku Sung-hwan delivers an unprecedented "refresh day" that swings between hell and heaven on I Live Alone.
The MBC I Live Alone episode airing on the 29th at 11:10 p.m. will depict Ku Sung-hwan, who recently returned after completing a 466km national trek, replacing furniture to inject new vitality into his daily life.
That day Ku Sung-hwan says goodbye to an old mattress that had supported his body for a full four years. He conveys his characteristic warm gratitude toward the mattress he had spent so much time with, saying, "If you count in soldiers, it's like a soldier I fought a thousand times." After the national trek, he reportedly acquired a new mattress with the firm resolve to "refresh anew."
However, the process of receiving the new furniture was far from smooth. Because using a ladder truck became impossible due to the limits of the veranda railing and window sizes, an unexpected situation arose in which the huge mattress had to be moved only via the stairs.
Although Ku Sung-hwan, often regarded as a leading "merchant" in the entertainment industry, was working in sync with the delivery driver and climbing the stairs floor by floor, the mattress became completely stuck between the stairs, triggering an unprecedented crisis. Faced with an immovable obstacle and sweating profusely, Ku Sung-hwan eventually clicked his tongue, saying, "It was truly hell."
Even in his exhausted state, he apologized to the delivery driver and joked, "I'll just sleep here!" which turned the scene into a sea of laughter, the reports say. After the arduous mattress operation ended, a new sofa to fill the living room appeared, bringing Ku Sung-hwan's "refresh day" to its peak.
After much hardship, Ku Sung-hwan, sweaty from the ordeal, lay on the new sofa and, with a face that looked like he owned the world, enjoyed true small but certain happiness, saying, "Happiness is close by!"
