The girl group ITZY captured their increasingly solid narrative sensibly through the music video for their new song "Motto".
ITZY, who returned on the 18th with the new mini album Motto, put forward an autonomous creed of "choosing myself even in uncertain situations." This is an extension of the message "respect and love myself" that they have consistently conveyed since their debut song "Dalla Dalla," and it fully infused the team's core identity and strengthened energy accumulated so far throughout the album.
The attitudes and direction that ITZY chose themselves to become who they are today were perfectly realized visually through the music video. The collage staging in which past music video set images pile up one by one to form a massive fortress symbolizes that all the members' time and choices have come together to become the solid result they are now. After coolly and composedly overcoming anxiety within the confined space of the fortress, the members move outside and perform a confident group dance, adding narrative depth. This music video, boasting high production values, proved its global buzz by ranking No. 1 on YouTube music video trending worldwide for three days immediately after its release.
With a well-made music video that connects past and present and a successful comeback promotion, ITZY is heading toward their new motto while touring diverse global stages. The world tour "TUNNEL VISION" that kicked off in Seoul last February will continue its run from June in places such as Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Bangkok and Manila. Then on June 23 local time, they will appear as headliners at the large music festival Mawazine in Rabat, Morocco, showcasing their firm presence as a global sensation.
