Singer-songwriter Gu Won-chan returns with a new release that contains a deeper sensibility and sincere confessions.
Gu Won-chan today (27th) at noon released his new EP 'Empty Seat' across various online music sites.
The new album 'Empty Seat' is a record that honestly captures the inevitable lack and change one faces in a short life, and the struggling growth process to become a better person. It candidly unfolds the flow of emotions experienced when stepping out of a always-protected place and facing the cold reality, and the narrative of ultimately remaining as a whole, true self.
In particular, on this EP Gu Won-chan directly participated in writing and composing all tracks, completing his uniquely distinctive musical world with greater density. His straightforward yet delicate expressive techniques demonstrate his more defined musical color.
The album includes a total of five tracks of diverse charm, including the title track of the same name.
The title track 'Dangerously (Feat. HANRORO)' depicts the subtle emotions just before and just after crossing the line, or the moment of a confession that cannot be fully conveyed in words. It sensorially captures the tremor at the moment the boundaries of a relationship waver, and the trending singer-songwriter HANRORO participated as a featured artist to raise the song's excitement and tension.
The music video, unveiled alongside the song, presents a dramatic direction in which the male and female protagonists dance in their own separate spaces and finally meet and perform together in the final scene. As they approach each other, it maximizes the subtle tremor that stays in their chests, heightening the music's immersion.
Gu Won-chan, who first stepped into the music scene in 2017 with the album 'Repetition', has since been active not only in album releases, various festivals and small theater shows, and holding solo concerts, but also as a vocalist on OSTs for popular works such as the TVING original "Not Yet Done My Best", "Yumi's Cells" season 2, and the variety show "Boys and Girls Fall in Love".<
