Comedian Lee Seong-mi entrusted her close junior Song Eun I with her posthumous funeral arrangements.
On the 25th, a video titled ""God gave everything… could I be the only one who can't do this" why Song Eun I quit drinking" was uploaded to the "Lee Seong-mi can't go" channel.
That day, Lee Seong-mi and Song Eun I talked about religion, a shared interest. During the conversation, Lee Seong-mi said, "When I see Song Eun I, God really guides that friend well, and she follows well. Aren't the two things going together? She follows guidance well. And she tries not to let go. She is a leader in the entertainment community," expressing deep trust.
In response, Song Eun I said, "I hide behind my older sister, though," awkwardly, and Lee Seong-mi said, "So I joked that when I die, you should take care of all the funerals," she said.
In fact, Lee Seong-mi said on the "Pyo Young-ho tv" channel in March that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and spent time preparing for death. She said, "After going through cancer, I thought I should get things in order quickly," and revealed that she had prepared a columbarium and burial clothes in advance to ease the burden on her children. She also said she had appointed Song Eun I as funeral committee chair, adding, "Song Eun I said, 'I would be so upset if you die,' but I said, 'If it's a road we all must take, I won't try not to go; send me off happily,'" she said.
Meanwhile, when Lee Seong-mi mentioned the remark again, Song Eun I laughed and said, "They called me the funeral committee chair and talked about it without me, so I saw it in the article. I thought, 'I became the funeral committee chair?'" and expressed deep bonds, saying, "I'm grateful that among the many juniors who follow and like my older sister, she still entrusts me with something."
Meanwhile, Lee Seong-mi was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in 2013 and, after surgery and chemotherapy, was declared cured.
