Members of the group Mahun Five acknowledged rumors of discord during their activities.
On the 27th, a video titled "22nd class heyday" was released on the YouTube channel 'Yangrak 1st Street'. The video showed KBS open recruitment 22nd class comedians Park Youngjin and Kim Wonhyo appearing and talking with Choi Yangrak and Kwon Jaegwan.
Kim Wonhyo and Park Youngjin are members of 'Mahun Five', made up of KBS 22nd class comedians who joined together, including Heo Kyunghwan, Park Seonggwang and Kim Jiho. When the topic of Mahun Five came up, Kim Wonhyo said, "There is a lot to talk about. We should have been fun from the start, but there was a lot of discord from the beginning," which aroused curiosity.
Kim Wonhyo said, "When you form a group, everyone naturally has their roles. Since I suggested forming it, I could have been the leader, but I didn't have to. Being the leader wasn't important. In that context, Park Seonggwang and Heo Kyunghwan kept wanting to be the leader. If you're the leader you have to start chants and introduce the group, and the two wanted to do that. I could understand Heo Kyunghwan because he's handsome, but I couldn't understand Park Seonggwang," he said.
When Park Youngjin said, "Park Seonggwang has leader syndrome," Kim Wonhyo said, "I asked Park Seonggwang if he met any of the conditions to be a leader and he didn't meet any. That's where the discord started. And originally we were going to be a band, but when we tried to decide on instruments everyone couldn't play and it was difficult, so everyone wanted to be a vocalist," he said. Park Youngjin said, "I can't sing so I said I would play drums first and practiced a lot, but I was thunderstruck when I was told the band wouldn't do it," he said.
Kim Wonhyo explained, "People ask why Mahun Five stopped, but it's not retirement. We received a second song and it was good. It was a song where we danced while singing live, and we even appeared on 'Music Core'. But during rehearsal everyone felt like they were dying, and it was chaos before the live broadcast. Seeing the health difficulties, we paused for a while."
