Epik High's Tablo shared surprising news about his daughter Haru.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel on the 26th, Tablo said of his 15-year-old daughter Haru, "My daughter is taking AP exams and preparing for the SAT. You won't believe it, but Haru has grown that much." SAT and AP are exams required in the U.S. college admissions process.
He added, "But sometimes Haru loses confidence. At those times she needs energy. Energy like 'I can do anything!' What song does she look for then? A movie OST," introducing the music.
Recently Haru's surprising English skills became a topic of conversation. Earlier, Tablo spoke about Haru's bilingualism, "My wife speaks to Haru completely in Korean. And I speak to Haru in English. Quite often. With Haru we go back and forth between English and Korean, but we didn't start English right away."
He continued, "If you watched me on The Return of SUPERMAN before, you would know there was a scene like that. When I first spoke to Haru in English, she said, 'Don't speak English.' At that time Haru couldn't speak a word of English. So we really started late. I waited until Haru opened up. About me speaking in English," he said.
He added, "Once that happened she learned very quickly, like all children do. Children learn languages incredibly fast. So if you want your child to be bilingual, just divide the roles and speak to the child in that language. Then the child will naturally pick it up," he said.
Meanwhile, Tablo was born in Seoul and emigrated to Canada with his family during childhood, acquiring Canadian citizenship. He married actress Kang Hye-jung in 2009 and has a daughter, Haru. Haru holds dual citizenship in Korea and Canada and is fluent in both Korean and English.
