KBS 2TV's new Saturday-Sunday miniseries 'The completion of marriage' (directed by Kim Junghyun and Kim Min‑tae, written by Jeong Jae‑ha, produced by Red Nine Pictures·KBS Media) officially announced the casting confirmation of Namkoong Min, Kim Dae-myeung, Lee Sul and Lee Sang Hee and scheduled the premiere for July 4 at 9:20 p.m.
'The completion of marriage' is a crime thriller depicting the perilous story of a man who fights a ruthless criminal to save his wife, who was kidnapped just before their divorce. Director Kim Junghyun, who showcased his distinct cold tension and stylish mise‑en‑scène in 'Hyper Knife' and 'Day and Night', takes the helm, raising expectations.
Namkoong Min plays Kang Tae-Ju, a neurosurgeon and hospital director, in this project.
In the story, Kang Tae-Ju faces the tragedy of his wife being kidnapped without a trace the day after he told her he wanted a divorce. Suddenly a fugitive and a pursuer, he wages a life‑risking, fierce battle to save his wife. Namkoong Min, who has proven his status as a trusted actor across genres with works such as 'Stove League', 'Black Sun', 'One Dollar Lawyer' and 'Lover', returns to a KBS weekend drama for the first time in seven years since 'Doctor Prisoner' to showcase the essence of charismatic action.
Kim Dae-myeung (as No Man‑hee) is the director of a computer academy who enjoys a good reputation in the neighborhood. Polite and gentle in speech but hiding a chilling ruthlessness beneath, he appears as the shocking villain who kidnaps the protagonist's wife. Attention is focused on his radical transformation that will completely erase the warm and friendly image he showed in works such as 'Hospital Playlist'.
Lee Sul (as Go Se‑yun) is the chairwoman of Uri Together Hospital and Kang Tae‑ju's wife. She becomes a victim who is caught up in a mysterious kidnapping while fiercely conflicted between resentment toward and affection for her husband. Lee Sul heightens the series' suspense with a densely emotional performance of a character placed in extreme circumstances.
Lee Sang Hee (as Kim Kyung‑ae) is a mysterious woman who suddenly appears before the troubled Go Se‑yun. She shows kind words and actions but emanates an odd sense of discord. Interest centers on the new face Lee Sang Hee, who has a wide acting range, will reveal.
