Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway revealed she once battled cataracts.
Anne Hathaway said in a recent interview with The New York Times (NYT) podcast Popcast, "For the past 10 years my left eye has been legally blind," a revelation that shocked many.
She said, "I developed early cataracts in my early 30s. I had to live through my 30s with almost no vision in my left eye," and confessed, "This caused extreme stress."
Fortunately, she has since regained her vision after surgery. Regarding this, Anne Hathaway explained, "I had surgery at 40. Only then did I realize how serious my eyes were. This condition was putting a tremendous burden on my eyes."
She also spoke about regaining her sight, saying, "The fact that I can see the world with both eyes every day is an incredible mechanism. One or two generations ago I might not have received treatment. That makes me even more grateful for this miracle now."
Anne Hathaway rose to global stardom after the 2001 success of the film The Princess Diaries. She went on to be loved for many films including The Devil Wears Prada, Alice in Wonderland, The Dark Knight Rises, Les Misérables, Interstellar, The Intern, and Ocean's 8, and recently visited Korea to meet Korean audiences for The Devil Wears Prada 2.<
