The group LE SSERAFIM targeted global fans precisely with exceptional performance skills and delightful variety show sensibilities.
LE SSERAFIM (Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Heo Yunjin, Kazuha, Hong Eunchae) on the 25th and 26th surprised fans by releasing two performance films of the title track "BOOMPALA" (Boompala) from their second full-length album through HYBE Labels and the team's official YouTube channel.
The two released performance films offer a variety of visual treats with completely contrasting moods from the background to the costumes and makeup.
The first film (Culture Depot pavilion) was filmed in a space where traces of the past and modern structures coexist intriguingly. The members appeared under bright lights wearing sophisticated beige-toned outfits, showcasing their distinctive fairy-like beauty and refined visuals.
The second film (a quarry in Gyeonggi Province) used the rough, vast natural scenery of the quarry as its backdrop. The five members unified their looks with chic all-black outfits, and in the latter part of the video, intense red lighting heightened LE SSERAFIM's overwhelming aura and girl-crush charm.
Through this new song, LE SSERAFIM expressed with their whole bodies the message of not being consumed by anxiety and worry, but letting them flow away flexibly and enjoying the present. From the striking intro that begins with them sitting on the floor in a meditation pose, the song seizes the viewer's attention.
In particular, the chorus cleverly borrows the iconic point choreography of the worldwide hit "Macarena," adding familiarity. The intuitive, lively arm movements that anyone can easily imitate create strong addictiveness.
The five members' detailed facial acting also brought the stage to life. Starting with Kim Chaewon's nonchalant acting in the intro as she enjoys the music alone while watching the others, during the full performance they showcase precise group choreography, and when the crossed-arm "Macarena" section comes, they face each other and smile brightly, spreading pleasant energy.
Not only the performance but LE SSERAFIM's entertainment sensibility to the core also captured attention. The "Effects of BOOMPALA" video released on the official YouTube channel on the 26th is content that wittily presents the effects of the new song's title and positive mantra "BOOMPALA" in everyday life through a comedic sketch.
The members claimed that the word has direct effects on facial muscle lifting, resolving conflicts with bosses, and boosting confidence, and transformed into roles such as office workers commuting by subway and children listening to parental nagging to perform one-person multi-role skits. Even when anger flared up, once the "BOOMPALA" chant was heard, they instantly regained inner peace and danced, perfectly delivering deadpan comic acting and bringing bursts of laughter to global fans.<
