The worst pet-keeping conditions, reminiscent of extreme wilderness, have been revealed in the heart of Seoul and are expected to shock living rooms.
Tonight (27th) at 10 p.m., Channel A's dog rehabilitation reality show The Time Between Dog and Wolf 2 will air episode 20, which lifts the veil on the devastating reality of "Songpa Heejuk-yi's" household where six animals — a couple of the same age, four dogs and two cats — are precariously cohabiting.
The daily life of "Songpa Heejuk-yi," revealed during recent filming, was nothing short of horrific. The sight of animals deprived even of basic environmental provisions is expected to provoke vicarious anger among viewers.
While the guardians look away for a moment, the dogs rush to trash bags of food left on the balcony. Repeated fights break out among the dogs over rotten food in the garbage heaps. With the water bowls inside the house completely empty, thirsty dogs and cats, unable to bear the thirst, tragically search for water and drink from the bathroom floor and into the drain.
A bigger problem was the guardians' immature and irresponsible attitude. In an environment where even one animal is hard to care for properly, dangerous accidents repeatedly occurred as dogs were injured one after another due to the mother guardian's negligence.
In particular, the mother guardian caused an uproar in the studio by showing an absurd scene of panicking at the animal hospital where she brought an injured dog because she could not even correctly identify Heejuk-yi's sex. In an environment where even basic care has completely broken down, the dogs continue to survive precariously day by day.
"Dog president" Kang Hyeong-wook, who visited Songpa Heejuk-yi's home in person, could not hide his grim expression after checking the house. Looking around at the severe hygiene conditions and the neglected environment, Kang Hyeong-wook finally let out a deep sigh and delivered blunt, stinging criticism toward the worst pet-keeping conditions, saying, "This house smells and is dirty," and "There is a sewer smell inside the house."
