Actor Kim Yu-mi has found a new home at Saram Entertainment and is embarking on a new leap forward.
On the 26th, Saram Entertainment (hereafter Saram Ent.) announced the news of signing an exclusive contract with actor Kim Yu-mi.
Saram Ent. said, "Kim Yu-mi is an actor who has established her own presence through acting skills accumulated over a long time," and "Because she has shown stable acting ability and deep expressive power across genres and characters, we will stand as a strong partner so she can continue to demonstrate a wide range of activities and performances through various works moving forward."
Kim Yu-mi, who debuted as an advertising model in 1999, has steadily built her filmography while working across dramas and films. With her distinct elegant and sophisticated aura, she has won public affection and proven solid acting skills through transformations that span contemporary works as well as historical dramas, melodramas and thrillers.
Over the years she has delivered steady, central performances in dramas 'Sangdo', 'Romance', 'The Scales of God', 'Salmatnida', 'Romance Is a Bonus Book' and films 'Phone', 'Return' and 'A Bloody Family.' In particular, in last year's TVING original series "Dear X" she took on the role of Hwang Ji-seon and made a shocking transformation unlike her previous portrayals, raising the drama's immersion.
Kim Yu-mi is also the wife of actor Jung-woo, who earlier signed an exclusive contract with Saram Ent. With the actors now under the same agency, expectations are rising for the synergy they may create.
Saram Ent. said, "We are pleased to be with Kim Yu-mi, who has built her career over a long time in her own place," and added, "We will spare no support so that the depth and charm she possesses as an actor can shine even more."
Meanwhile, Saram Entertainment represents many of Korea's leading actors, including Gong Myoung, Park Gyu-young, Soohyun, Lee Soo-hyuk, Lee Yeon-hee, Jung-woo and Choi Sooyoung.
