Lee Ji-hyun, formerly of Jewelry, shared her busy daily life after opening a hair salon.
On the 25th, a video titled [first reveal] "I got a scalp treatment from Ji-hyun, who became the salon "owner"!" was uploaded to the Kim Hyun-sook's Mukgo Salja channel.
That day, Kim Hyun-sook visited the salon Lee Ji-hyun opened and received a scalp treatment. When asked about her recent life, Lee Ji-hyun said, "When I get home I start by picking up the mess the kids made, then I prepare meals, run the vacuum, fold the laundry and run the washing machine again. My son is hungry all day so I worry about that. My daughter is a girl so I worry about what she might be doing or where she might be going. I'm so grateful when the kids just help with the recycling. It's so nice. Lately I have little time at home so I don't even have time to fight with the kids," sharing her busy routine.
She said, "The salon opens at 10 a.m. and runs until 8 p.m., but since we haven't been open long, if all the staff stay after work to give feedback it becomes 10 o'clock," she confessed. Kim Hyun-sook asked, "The kids will have a lot they have to take care of themselves. Do you cook and leave meals?" and Lee Ji-hyun replied, "Preparing food ahead only covers one meal, so the remaining meals are delivery food," she admitted.
When asked, "When the kids go to school don't you have to worry about assignments or private academies?" she expressed her distress, "Every day I check the e-alimi and the school app alarms and homework, it's all so hectic."
Later, when asked if she had plans to return as an actress, she said, "There's nothing like that. I did it briefly and then had the children and it was chaotic, and I've been running since then. There's nothing about acting," and added honestly, "You might be the same, but I don't remember the old days well. Since having children I've lived so fiercely that when people say 'you did that back then' I actually don't remember well."
She said, "I've always felt envious when I met people who seriously planned and accomplished many things in life from a young age, and I often wonder why I didn't look at life seriously when I was young," and Kim Hyun-sook comforted her, "Who wants to live a hard life?" Lee Ji-hyun nodded and said, "Right. It was an effort to live well, it just didn't work out."
When asked, "How did you first decide to work in hairdressing?" Lee Ji-hyun said, "It happened by chance. We go to the salon every morning. The salon owner who did YouTube with me is a friend of our CEO and was a salon owner. She said, 'Why don't you learn hairdressing, how about it?' Since hair salons were places we came and went from as much as our home, I thought it would be good and started, but wow..." she lamented the difficulties.
Kim Hyun-sook said, "You didn't know it would be this hard, right? Usually ignorance is bravery. You start when you don't know. Would you have started if you had known?" and Lee Ji-hyun empathized, "I wouldn't have. I would have just done something else."
Meanwhile, Lee Ji-hyun married a noncelebrity man seven years her senior in 2013 and had one son and one daughter, but they divorced by mutual agreement in 2016. After raising her two children alone, she remarried an ophthalmologist in 2017 but divorced for a second time in 2020, and in 2023 she drew attention by saying she was preparing to become a hairdresser. After officially obtaining her license and completing a training period at a Cheongdam-dong hair academy, she is now working as the owner at a salon located in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province.
