DAY6 (DAY6) Dowoon (Yun Dowoon) has had marriage rumors surface following dating rumors with YouTuber Yoo Ji-yoo.
Recently, posts related to the dating suspicions between Dowoon and Yoo Ji-yoo have spread on online communities.
The start of the dating rumors was suspicions of the two's "lovestagram." Not only couple items but also a photo showing a dog of the same breed as Yoo Ji-yoo's pet riding inside what appeared to be Yun Dowoon's car was revealed through an acquaintance's SNS, fueling suspicion.
Yoo Ji-yoo is a member of the internet model contest "Ulzzang Generation 5" and the younger sister of Yoo Hye-ju, who runs the parenting YouTube channel "RejuLike." She also runs the "Jiyurobge" channel and works as an influencer; she had a boyfriend she dated for nine years but the two announced their breakup in January last year, drawing attention.
As suspicions that Yoo Ji-yoo was dating Dowoon spread, comments demanding verification poured in on Yoo Ji-yoo's SNS and YouTube channel. Amid a barrage of fans demanding an explanation from Dowoon, the agency JYP Entertainment told OSEN, "We have no comment."
In particular, the allegation that Dowoon and Yoo Ji-yoo are not simply dating but preparing to marry caused a stir. Since last year, reports claiming Dowoon had been visiting wedding planners for consultations have been spreading on online communities.
Some fans have expressed disappointment toward Dowoon, saying that since he has only recently hit his prime, he should still be focusing on group activities rather than preparing for marriage. They also criticized him for being neglectful in communicating with fans, calling it "deception." On the other hand, some argue that such fan reactions are somewhat excessive.
Meanwhile, DAY6 will continue its debut 10th anniversary world tour "The DECADE" next month in Kobe, Japan. In July they will hold an encore concert in Seoul to meet fans. With dating rumors followed by marriage rumors spreading widely ahead of the tour, attention is focused on whether Dowoon will offer a direct explanation in the future.<
