Actor Kim Dong-wook revealed behind-the-scenes details of his marriage to his wife Stella, and close friend Chae Jung-an even shared stories from the wedding, drawing laughter.
On the 25th, the YouTube channel Zzanbro released a video titled Chae Jung-an Kim Dong-wook [Zzanbro EP.146] a preview of Dongyeopshin's 60th birthday party.
That day Chae Jung-an described Kim Dong-wook's personality as "extremely spur-of-the-moment style" and spoke up. Kim Dong-wook agreed, saying "If I ask my nuna 'what are you doing tonight, want to have a drink?' the style is to say okay immediately." Chae Jung-an laughed, saying "Dong-wook knows the thrill of a sudden plan. He is someone who knows the exhilaration that spontaneity gives," and added, "So he has a lot of appointments and seems to enjoy sudden meetups."
Kim Dong-wook then revealed the backstory of his marriage to his wife Stella. He said "we had a formal meeting with the families seven months after we met," and "for four months it was a long-distance relationship. My wife was in New Jersey and I was in Korea." He continued, "the actual time we dated together was about three months when my wife came on vacation," and "after that we immediately had the formal meeting and set the wedding date." In the end, the two tied the knot about one year and three months after they started dating.
He also explained why they held their wedding at Myeongdong Cathedral. Kim Dong-wook said "we both had the same religion, and my father-in-law and mother-in-law were also married at Myeongdong Cathedral," and "we accidentally went into Myeongdong Cathedral while on a date, and that became our first date location." Hearing this, Chae Jung-an immediately joked, "So you couldn't be reached for months. Myeongdong was the problem," prompting uproarious laughter.
Chae Jung-an said, "Dong-wook really married well," showing affection like an older sister. In particular, she revealed a backstory about the wedding after-party that drew attention. Chae Jung-an said, "I normally don't go to wedding after-parties. I feel like I'm showing off for no reason and prefer to quietly congratulate and leave," but added, "but Dong-wook's wedding after-party was really fun."
She continued, "Stella's friends came from New York and suddenly it turned into a dance battle atmosphere," and confessed, "Baek Jung-nam and I represented Hannam-dong, but honestly we were lacking." She added, "You can't beat the New Yorker vibe. The juniors looked at me with the eyes that said 'the only person who can own this stage is Chae Jung-an,' which felt like being watched closely," and said, "I even considered doing a step, but it felt too forced," making the scene burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Dong-wook married Stella Kim at Seoul's Myeongdong Cathedral in December 2023. At the time the bride was known only as "a talented beauty," but later it became a hot topic when it was revealed she was a former SM Entertainment trainee and a member of Girls' Generation's debut lineup.
