A black sitcom that struck the YouTube ecosystem was born.
The MeMe Studio channel of Dooho Corporation presented House of Peace, which surpassed 10 million cumulative views and has perfectly established itself as a meal companion for Millennials and Gen Z.
House of Peace, which premiered at the end of January this year, is a genre-style YouTube content that reinterprets the public's nostalgia for past sitcoms with a trendy sensibility. In particular, it drew immediate responses from Millennials and Gen Z from its launch with a fresh attempt that combined a fake documentary format and cutting black comedy.
The secret to House of Peace's popularity is undoubtedly the hard-carry of its distinctive characters. "Honorary Britons" Baek Jin-kyung and Yoo Byeong-kwon respectively portray unique characters called "Grace" and "Jacklin," amusingly depicting episodes that occur in an unpredictable and bizarre boarding house. In addition, the surprise appearance of Baek Jin-kyung's other persona "Isabelle" and the fantastic acting chemistry with Yoo Byeong-kwon spread by word of mouth, making it called a "binge-worthy, bewitching content" on YouTube.
Each episode's star guest lineup also played a key role in driving its success. Starting with Padanners Moon Sang-hoon, Jonathan, Gabee, Shin Hyun-ji, WOODZ, Lee Seon-min, Shin Gi-ru, Jang Yoon-ju, Kim Ji-yoo, Pani Bottle, and more recently Um Ji-yoon and Lee Mi-do, a roster of hot artists made a full appearance. They did not merely appear; within Haopi's unique worldview they perfectly carried out brazen situational skits, raising the show's entertainment value.
A representative said, "This achievement adds meaning as a solid result that Dooho Corporation achieved by directly performing the entire process from planning to production and operation based on the proprietary IP of its affiliated creators Baek Jin-kyung and Yoo Byeong-kwon." Recently, it proved the IP's influence by releasing goods. On the 29th, after episode 17, it will release the season's final episode.
