Comedian Lee Guk-ju confided in Kim Sook about her worries regarding marriage.

On that day, Lee Guk-ju talked with Kim Sook and Park Eunhye at a restaurant in Tokyo. While continuing the conversation about work and love, Lee Guk-ju said, "If you ask me whether to marry a good person or to date for life, I would want to date for life. But because I don't think I can date for life, I want to get married." She added, "I want to meet someone who feels fun to be with rather than serious love."
Hearing this, Kim Sook said, "I am completely about work. I don't think there will be love anymore. To be honest, it's bothersome now," and noted, "As people around me get older, work takes on a greater share. Even if love comes, there is no room."
Kim Sook continued, "When you are young you have overflowing energy, so sometimes love, sometimes work, you can be swayed and neglect work. Later they become similar. In the early 40s, feelings about marriage rise sharply. In the mid-40s, work surges."
Lee Guk-ju also said, "I want to meet someone reliable. I feel tired now. I want to lean on someone emotionally, not physically."
Kim Sook advised, "From a man's perspective, he wants someone to stand beside him; there's no one who wants to be leaned on. You need someone who will stand side by side with you," and Lee Guk-ju said, "I have confidence in work, even outside broadcasting. But marriage and love aren't something I can do alone, so they scare me."
Lee Guk-ju also said, "If I turn forty-five, I think I might give up a bit. It's unavoidable since I can't have children. But because people around me say, 'If you're going to do it anyway, you should do it quickly,' it's hard to let go."
Meanwhile, Lee Guk-ju, born in 1986, debuted in 2006 as part of MBC's 15th class of public recruits.
