Malicious graffiti attacks and appearance-based criticism targeting singer BoA have continued, drawing concern from fans.
Recently, malicious graffiti aimed at BoA was repeatedly found at bus stops and billboards around Gangnam Station, Sinnonhyeon Station and Yeoksam-daero in Seoul. The photos were spread through online communities and social media, causing shock.
In particular, some fans, worried that BoA might see them directly, voluntarily revealed even scenes of erasing the graffiti, adding to the sorrow. Concerns have grown as reports said similar graffiti was found not only in Gangnam but also in Gwangjin District and Gangdong District.
What is more regrettable is that BoA had already revealed psychological suffering from years of malicious comments and various controversies. Earlier, BoA was embroiled in controversy over remarks mentioning Park Na-rae during a drinking live broadcast with Jun Hyun-moo and apologized directly. Afterwards, through a fan communication platform she candidly revealed, "Over the past few years I have gone through difficult times not only at work but also personally."
At the time BoA confessed, "The world is changing and I am changing, and as those changes rushed in at once I repeatedly wondered, 'Is this the place I should be standing?'" She actually once surprised fans by leaving a post on her personal social media saying, "When the contract ends, I can retire, right?" She later corrected it as a typo, but she had previously revealed complicated feelings even mentioning the specific contract period.
Meanwhile, recently BoA ended her 25-year partnership with SM Entertainment and announced a new start by establishing a one-person agency.
On the 23rd BoA posted a video showing her transformed into a short blond style with the caption, "Yeon-jin.. I'm really excited." In the video, BoA conveyed bright energy with a free atmosphere and styling that showed her figure.
However, some netizens continued appearance evaluations such as "She looks a bit different" and "Long hair suits her better." Fans, meanwhile, sent supportive messages like "Goddess BoA," "BoA is so cute," "Unni, don't worry," and "BoA is the prettiest," lending their support.
BoA, who once even revealed retirement considerations, has started a new leap with independence. Even so, voices saying "Isn't this a time when she needs more support?" and "Stop the malicious comments" have continued as appearance evaluations and hostile reactions persist.
