"The Scarecrow" reveals the truth after 30 years and Song Geon-hee returns.
On the 25th, ENA's Monday-Tuesday drama "The Scarecrow" (writer Lee Ji-hyun, director Park Jun-woo) released still cuts showing the current 2019 appearances of Kang Tae-Ju (Park Hae-soo), Cha Si-young (Lee Heejun) and Seo Ji-won (Kwak Sun-young) ahead of episode 11 airing that night. In particular, the photos drew attention by also showing the young Cha Young-beom (Song Geon-hee), who looks exactly like Lee Ki-beom (Song Geon-hee), who met an unjust death during the investigation of the Kangseong serial murder case.
Earlier, Kang Tae-Ju learned from Park Dae-ho's (Ryu Hae-joon) confession that Cha Si-young and the detectives had concealed the body of Yoon Hye-jin (Lee A-rin). The ending, in which Kang Tae-Ju, who was pursuing the whereabouts of the body, is even buried alive by Cha Si-young, created shock. Among them, the released still cuts hint at the flow of new incidents. In the present where Kang Tae-Ju and Cha Si-young have reunited, anger is sparked by the gold badge on Cha Si-young's chest indicating he is a member of the National Assembly. They show a wary attitude at the news that the real perpetrator of the serial murders has been caught. It piques curiosity about who will be the winner of the truth game revealed after 30 years.
Another photo draws attention with the familiar young Cha Young-beom. Cha Young-beom is an intern reporter who investigates the serial murders resurfacing after the perpetrator's confession. The two roles played by Song Geon-hee—as Lee Ki-beom, who was framed and died from torture aftereffects, and as the young reporter pursuing the truth—raise expectations.
Regarding this, the production team of "The Scarecrow" said, "From episode 11, set in the present 2019, the hidden truths of the incidents from 30 years ago will once again surface." They added, "The changes in relationships among the characters who meet again after a long time are also an important point to watch," expressing confidence.
"The Scarecrow," produced as a 12-episode series, is entering its final week with only two episodes left. Having recorded its highest rating of 7.9% in episode 10, attention is focused on whether "The Scarecrow" will once again set a new record.
