"On Eun-young report — again, love" is expected to convey emotion with the story of the "hand-and-foot couple" that even moved Dr. Oh Eun-young to tears.
Today (25th) in the MBC program "On Eun-young report — again, love" (abbreviated Again, Love) part 2, the story of a husband who lost both legs and his left arm in a dump truck accident and the wife who endured to keep him alive, known as the "hand-and-foot couple," will be revealed.
"Again, Love" is a two-part special presented by MBC's current affairs and education department that produced the once widely loved "Human Documentary Love." In part 1, the "Baegue couple" episode, which contained a husband's desperate love for his terminally ill wife, drew great attention. The upcoming part 2, the "hand-and-foot couple" episode, is also drawing expectations.
The tragedy of the "hand-and-foot couple" occurred suddenly. The husband, who was riding a bicycle, was involved in a traffic accident with a dump truck. The husband's arm was caught in a tire and the bicycle was sucked in, causing a major accident.
The husband survived the horrific accident. The wife became his hands and feet by his side. The wife, describing her feelings during the husband's surgery, sobbed, "All I felt was that as long as he didn't die, it would be fine."
After regaining consciousness following the surgery, the husband was filled with despair. He even suffered from trauma because the moment of the accident kept resurfacing whenever he closed his eyes.
For that "hand-and-foot couple," Dr. Oh Eun-young said, "PTSD does not recover just by enduring it," noting, "Not only the husband but the wife who witnessed the accident is also experiencing secondary post-traumatic stress disorder." Attention is focused on whether her advice and viewers' empathy can comfort the "hand-and-foot couple."
