Comedian and influencer Laura Clery thanked the rescuers who helped her when she was pinned under a 600-pound (about 272kg) refrigerator.
Clery recently posted a video on her social media showing her wearing a neck brace and talking with emergency responders inside an ambulance.
In the video, Clery said, "So I was pinned under a 600-pound refrigerator?" as she looked up at the two firefighters and asked, "Is that right?" One of the officers answered, "Yes."
Dazed, Clery looked into the camera before the video ended. Along with the video, she said, "I want to thank the true heroes who pushed a 600-pound refrigerator off of me."
Clery said, "It was just after the fentanyl effect kicked in, and all the pain vanished (in an instant). I really want to thank these amazing firefighters who saved my life!!" and added, "Seriously. They arrived so quickly, broke down the garage door and came in. Three of them pushed a 600-pound (about 270kg) refrigerator off me and safely moved me to the emergency room before things got worse."
She also reflected on "how differently things could have gone" and said she felt "overwhelming gratitude."
She praised them, saying, "No bones were broken, the children are okay and safe. I can walk too... I was really lucky! They were calm and kind. They handled everything like true heroes," and added, "But at the moment one of them pushed the refrigerator off me, he said, 'Wait a minute... I watch all your videos!' and then everyone started cheering me on. Oh, really... I was totally about to be crushed to death, but still, thank you."
At the time of the horrific incident, she said, "I couldn't move" and "I couldn't breathe," and said her two children with ex-husband Steven Hilton, 7-year-old Alfie and 5-year-old Poppy, were at home at the time.
She said she was able to take her phone out of her pocket and call 911, and "it was only when three firefighters rushed in that they could finally lift it off my body. I'm still shaking."
She later said her son Alfie, who is on the autism spectrum, climbed onto the refrigerator and knocked it over, and that the refrigerator "was not properly secured to the wall." Clery also said she "wants to sue" the installer of the refrigerator and blamed the mistake on "negligence."
