The group LE SSERAFIM is drawing intense attention in the global music market with their new song "BOOMPALA" (Boompala).
LE SSERAFIM's full-length second album ''PUREFLOW' pt.1' title track entered Apple Music's "Today's Top 100: Global" at No. 46 on the 22nd. So far, only four K-pop groups, including LE SSERAFIM, have appeared on that chart on the day of release. In addition, the song entered Apple Music's "Today's TOP100" in a total of 38 countries/regions, including Singapore (No. 1), Taiwan (No. 1) and Hong Kong (No. 2).
"BOOMPALA" was streamed 1,325,928 times on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify in one day. It landed on the "Daily Top Songs" (dated the 22nd) in six countries/regions, including Korea, Taiwan and Singapore. Riding this momentum, the lead single from the full-length second album, "CELEBRATION," which was released earlier on the 24th of last month, re-entered the charts in Japan and Taiwan. As of the 22nd, LE SSERAFIM had 15,581,453 monthly listeners, the most among fourth-generation K-pop girl groups.
On YouTube, "BOOMPALA" entered Japan's "Trending music" at No. 27 and rose to No. 2 as of 8 a.m. on the 24th. In the U.S. and Korea it started at No. 22 and No. 28 respectively, both rising to a peak of No. 6, appearing on charts in a total of 30 countries/regions over two days, confirming broad global interest.
"BOOMPALA" is a song that carries the message that "fear may, depending on perspective and attitude, actually be nothing more than an illusion." It features a cheerful energy that turns the realization of fear into a positive change. "BOOMPALA" is a word not found in dictionaries that LE SSERAFIM created for this song. It is used like a charm that makes you think of everything in a positive way. The message to shake off needless worries and enjoy together gives strength and resonance to people around the world. It also samples the era-defining hit "Macarena," making it familiar to people of all ages globally.
Meanwhile, LE SSERAFIM will appear on SBS' Inkigayo at 3:20 p.m. today (the 24th). They will then take the stage at the "2026 WeverseCon Festival" held June 6–7 at Seoul Olympic Park's KSPO DOME and the 88 Lawn.
