Lee Dong-gook's wife, Lee Su-jin, announced that construction of her husband's soccer academy has been suspended.
On the 23rd, Lee Su-jin said, "I want to honestly inform the many people waiting for the Gangnam branch opening about the current situation. Life always seems to bring unexpected things."
She added, "Currently, the Gangnam branch's facility construction has been suspended due to contractual issues between the building owner and the landowner."
She also said, "We know that everyone who loves soccer and basketball has long waited for this kind of indoor sports facility to open in Gangnam, so we have sincerely prepared to create the best space. That is why the current situation is even more regrettable and disappointing."
She added, "Please kindly understand that at this time we are unable to provide detailed information due to various relationships and circumstances," and "We are sincerely sorry to everyone who looked forward to the opening and waited, and we also hope that the situation will be resolved and that a day will come soon when we can give a detailed explanation along with good news."
Lastly, she urged, "Please trust us a little longer and understand."
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-gook married Lee Su-jin, who was the 1997 Miss Korea Hawaii, in 2005, and they have five children. Starting with their eldest twin daughters Jaeshi and Jaeah, followed by twin daughters Seola and Sua, and the youngest son Sian, he is the father of five siblings.
