'Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night' actor Song Il-guk reflected on his immature past and spoke about his mother Kim Eul-dong.
On the 23rd broadcast of MBN 'Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night,' Song Il-guk appeared to share the latest on the triplets and his own recent activities as an actor.
After his debut he drew attention for being the son of Kim Eul-dong, but he gained wide popularity after being recognized for his acting in 'Haeshin' and 'Jumong.' He later married a judge and had triplets, becoming popular as the 'national triplets' family on a national variety show, and while primarily in charge of childcare he has been actively performing on stage.
Song Il-guk said the triplets, now in the second year of middle school, do not particularly like having their stories mentioned on broadcasts. Song Il-guk said, "Dad has to make a living. I'm calling you to hear your stories," and said he reached a reasonable compromise with the children. He proudly said the triplets still wear the same clothes, noting, "Maybe because they've worn the same clothes since childhood, they find it strange to wear different clothes," and surprised everyone by introducing the very tall triplets, "Daehan is 186, Minguk is 183, Manse is 180cm."
Song Il-guk revealed he wandered a lot when he was young. His school attendance was terrible, and although he wanted to do stage art, he was expelled while studying art in college and graduated 12 years later. Ultimately finding his way to acting, he struck it big with productions such as 'Haeshin' and 'Jumong,' but he could not confidently call himself an actor. He began to say he was an actor with conviction after performing on stage. Until the day before going on stage, frustrated with his inadequate acting, he knelt holding his mother and asked to be taught, and after that he was reborn.
So what advice did Kim Eul-dong give to this Song Il-guk? Song Il-guk said, "My mother really never nagged. People might think Kim Eul-dong would speak bluntly, but that's absolutely not the case," and said, "I really caused my mother a lot of worry." He added, "If I hadn't matured, I wouldn't be able to say this, but she steadfastly waited through this process."
Meanwhile, Moon Seyoon and others said, "Aren't you expressing this too humbly?" but Song Il-guk waved his hand, saying, "I wasn't marked with a red line, but I was really immature," He even said as dark humor, "If it weren't for my mother, I would have gone to prison," adding, "I might have met my (judge) wife elsewhere," which shocked everyone.
Meanwhile, Song Il-guk plays Lee Sang-seol in the musical "The Hague." It is one of the roles among the three historical Hague emissaries Lee Jun, Lee Sang-seol and Yi Wi-jong, and Song Il-guk expressed his sincerity about the work, saying, "Rather than feeling burdened, we are presenting a work to honor the 'Hague emissaries,' so it is an immense honor."
