The group Monsta X (MONSTA X) unit Shownu X Hyungwon shone globally as their new album drew rave reviews from major U.S. outlets.
The U.S. business magazine Forbes recently spotlighted Shownu X Hyungwon's mini album 2 'LOVE ME (Love Me),' released on the 21st, praising the duo's more mature and clearer charm.
Forbes said "Love is fickle, but groups as charismatic and distinctive as Monsta X's Shownu and Hyungwon will fall head over heels for their new album 'LOVE ME'" and added that regarding the members' deepened mood and music, "the duo, now more mature and wiser, presents a clearer emotional perspective through delicacy, tension and atmosphere. The seven-track album overall feels mature and sexy, putting lyrical emphasis on the sensual tension revealed through love."
The outlet particularly noted the differences and growth compared with the first mini album 'THE UNSEEN,' saying that while the previous title track 'Love Me A Little' was a message of cautious pleading, the new song 'Do You Love Me (Do You Love Me)' poses a bolder, more direct question, highlighting the change in deepened emotional lines.
It also highlighted the album's meaning by quoting the members' interviews. It spotlighted Hyungwon's expanding producing capabilities, noting that he participated in the production of four tracks and "developed a broader perspective on music," while praising Shownu's answer that he "wanted to add the unit's groove and rhythmic energy," evaluating their distinctive color beyond the previous minimal sensibility.
With a fresh yet solidified identity that won praise from global listeners and foreign media, Shownu X Hyungwon will appear on MBC's Show! Music Core today (the 23rd) to perform the title track 'Do You Love Me' and continue their full comeback activities.
