Actor Byeon Woo-seok appears on a web variety show amid controversy over historical distortion in Perfect Crown.
On the 23rd, the YouTube channel Ddeunddeun released a shorts video titled "special preview cam housewarming."
The released video is a teaser for a new episode of Pinggego, which will be released at 9 a.m. on the 30th, and features Yu Jae-seok along with Lee Kwangsoo, Byeon Woo-seok, and Ji Ye-eun.
During the relaxed recording of Pinggego, Byeon Woo-seok suddenly asked Lee Kwangsoo, "Could you take off your top?" and said, "The colors overlap."
In response, Yu Jae-seok laughed and said, "Byeon Woo-seok doesn't do that to others, but he does that only to Lee Kwangsoo. He never leaves him alone for a moment," and Byeon Woo-seok said, "It's because I'm so comfortable."
Byeon Woo-seok's Lee Kwangsoo "fangirl" moment did not end. He also asked Lee Kwangsoo, "Can you feed me the rice cake first? I cut it for you," and when Lee Kwangsoo said, "I'm undergoing orthodontic treatment right now, so I can't eat rice cakes because of filming," Byeon Woo-seok said, "It's fascinating (that you change your teeth for filming every time)." Yu Jae-seok also laughed, saying, "This is the first time I've seen someone change their teeth like this for filming."
At Byeon Woo-seok's fangirl moment, Lee Kwangsoo clicked his tongue and laughed, saying, "He really has a devilish style."
Byeon Woo-seok apologized for the historical distortion controversy over Perfect Crown, which ended on the 16th. Perfect Crown has been criticized for distorting history, such as having officials shout "cheonse" used by vassal states instead of "manse," a symbol of the independent state, at the enthronement of IAN Duke (Byeon Woo-seok), and having the king wear the goryumyeonryugwan used by Chinese officials rather than the sibimyeonryugwan used by the independent state's emperor.
In response, Byeon Woo-seok apologized, saying, "I lacked consideration for what the historical context and meaning contained in the work are and how they might be received by the viewers," and added, "As an actor, I have deeply engraved once again that I need to take a more responsible attitude in examining and reflecting on not only my acting but also the message and context of the work. I will approach works with a more cautious and deeper attitude going forward."
