25th season Yeong-ja, who appeared on 'Nasolsagye', came forward to explain the controversy over breach of contract.
Earlier on the 21st, the 'Chonjang Entertainment' channel hosted live broadcasts by the cast to mark the final episode of ENA, SBS Plus variety show 'I'm SOLO, love continues after that' (hereafter 'Nasolsagye') 'one more special'.
But the live broadcast notice included the statement "25th-season Yeong-ja is restricted from participating in the live broadcast due to breach of contract and violation of the cast member's duties," which drew attention. As the 25th-season Yeong-ja rose to the top female popularity spot on 'Nasolsagye - one more special' and formed the final couple with 20th-season Yeong-sik, viewers who had been looking forward to updates on her after the show expressed questions at the sudden absence notice.
On the 22nd, the 25th-season Yeong-ja posted on her social account and said, "I am unable to participate in Solo Reaction and the live broadcast, but this was a time that left me with an experience and lessons beyond what I deserve. If I had participated in the live broadcast, I wanted to cautiously share my reflections and especially discuss matters related to the creator agency." She directly explained the suspicions surrounding her, including the 'breach of contract'.
She explained, "In February of this year I was contacted by an agency related to creators, and after deep consideration and discussion it felt like a good opportunity for me, who had been working as an illustrator, so I proceeded with a contract on March 1. Separate from the show, I thought of it only as an extension of my personal activities to continue my illustration work and content activities, and I planned to slowly show the content that contained my work after the show ended, but the related matters became known faster than expected before the show ended, and as a result I accept gravely that it could be seen as a situation that undermines the show's sincerity in the eyes of viewers. I will be more careful in my considerations and actions going forward."
In fact, news emerged that the 25th-season Yeong-ja had signed a contract on the 30th of last month with Socialing, an MCN agency to which Min Do-hee and Cheon I-seul belong, drawing attention. Ultimately it was judged that the 25th-season Yeong-ja had damaged sincerity by signing with an agency during the 'Nasolsagye' broadcast, and she was prevented from participating in the live broadcast for breach of contract. In addition, the 25th-season Yeong-ja explained the events through a short animation she drew herself. The video included the contract process with the agency, and after the contract became known through news reports, it depicted a message she said she received from the 'Nasolsagye' producer saying, "What is this before the show even ends? Don't you think this looks insincere? We will hold you accountable so pick up the phone right now."
In addition, the 'Nasolsagye' side warned the 25th-season Yeong-ja, saying, "You must accept that we will hold you accountable. First, you obviously cannot participate in the immediate live broadcast, and know that there will be further measures we may take based on the contract."
The 25th-season Yeong-ja added explanations for other suspicions, saying, "Through this incident many misunderstandings and speculations have arisen, and there are a few things I wanted to tell directly. I filed to change my name in November last year, and it has nothing to do with the company. The company and I have never carried out viral marketing. It seems there is also a misunderstanding about the guesthouse I mentioned on the show. I was in charge of operating and managing three guesthouses but had no equity, and externally I was referred to as the owner; it was not a form of running them alone. Also, contrary to some claims, it was not a 'party guesthouse' intended for meeting people of the opposite sex, and I did not reside in or participate in that space."
She continued, "I have never hunted [for partners], and I do not smoke. My family does not engage in community activities; rather, they are people around me who are cautious because they worry they might be harmed because of me. Stories about my father are also not true. My father is a proud man who has lived faithfully for his family more than anyone." She added, "Through this incident I realized that even if I thought I had lived an upright life, misunderstandings can arise from how I look or the way I speak. I will reflect on my shortcomings and strive to become a better person." However, not long after, the 25th-season Yeong-ja deleted the post.
Meanwhile, on that day's 'Nasolsagye' live broadcast, 20th-season Yeong-sik said that he did not become a 'hyun-keo (real-life couple)' with the 25th-season Yeong-ja.
