The group BTS continued its unstoppable run of success in the global music market with its fifth full-length album "Arirang" (ARIRANG).
According to the latest chart released by the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify (tracking period: May 15–May 21), BTS's fifth full-length album "Arirang" ranked No. 2 on the weekly top albums global chart, holding its place in the top three for nine consecutive weeks. The title track "SWIM" also placed No. 4 on the weekly top songs global chart, and all 12 vocal tracks included on the new release made the chart for nine consecutive weeks, a record achievement.
Also, on the latest Official Albums Top 100 released by the U.K. Official Charts (for May 22–May 28), "Arirang" showed sustained popularity by ranking No. 26 following last week. Notably, its rebounds on subcharts stood out: it jumped 10 spots to No. 25 on the Scottish albums chart and rose five places to No. 21 on the official physical albums chart. It also placed high across other subcharts, including No. 33 on the official album streaming chart and No. 31 on the official vinyl albums chart, while the title track "SWIM" ranked No. 59 on the Official Singles Top 100 and remained at No. 73 on both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts.
On Germany's official music charts (Offizielle Deutsche Charts) top 100 albums chart (May 22), it rose one spot from the previous week to No. 5, maintaining a top-10 position for nine consecutive weeks. It also secured No. 10 on the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP) top albums chart (tracking period: May 15–May 21), demonstrating a strong presence in Europe. Additionally, it placed No. 12 on Australia's ARIA top 50 albums chart and rose two places to No. 14 on the top 20 vinyl albums chart.
Its dominance in the Asian market continued. "Arirang" held No. 3 on the latest Japan Oricon chart (May 25 / tracking period: May 11–May 17) weekly combined album ranking. In particular, it climbed three places from the previous week to enter No. 4 on the weekly digital album ranking, solidifying its position near the top.
BTS has confirmed attendance at the American Music Awards, to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on the 25th (local time). At this awards show, they will vie for the highest honor and top prize, artist of the year. After becoming the first Korean artist to win the award in 2021, global attention is focused on whether they will once again make K-pop history by winning artist of the year for a second time.
In addition, BTS will share the stage with legendary pop stars Madonna and Shakira as co-headliners of the halftime show for the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ North, Central America and Caribbean final in July.
