Beyond the birth of a monster rookie, they have now become a perfect global trend. Five-member boy group CORTIS is shaking the global music market properly, breaking its own daily records on the world's largest music platform, Spotify.
According to Spotify, CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)'s mini album 2 title track "REDRED" ranked 115 on the latest "Weekly Top Songs Global" chart, marking an impressive four consecutive weeks on the chart. Among K-pop boy groups that debuted in the past five years, CORTIS is the only team to break into both global daily and weekly charts and sustain such a long run. On the "Daily Top Songs Korea" chart, it held the top spot firmly for as long as 24 days.
CORTIS's monthly listeners on Spotify approach about 11.99 million, on the verge of surpassing 12 million. This is a monumental achievement corresponding to being among the "top 4" following records such as BTS in terms of all-time highs for K-pop boy groups. It proves that after the release of the mini album 2, the global fandom has been exponentially pouring in.
Also, after taking No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard main album chart "Billboard 200" and No. 1 on "Top Album Sales," they also appeared for two consecutive weeks on the U.K. Official Charts' "Official Hip Hop & R&B Albums." They have also landed on Billboard Japan, showcasing their presence as a "global top-tier".
Standing at the global top with "REDRED," CORTIS will continue the craze this weekend with performances of album tracks. They will appear consecutively on MBC's Show! Music Core on the 23rd and SBS's Inkigayo on the 24th to present performances of the album tracks "ACAI" and "YOUNGCREATORCREW."
In particular, domestic broadcast stage expectations peaked because the album track "YOUNGCREATORCREW," nicknamed "YoungCreCre" among fans, will be performed on music shows domestically for the first time.
