Actor Ryu Seung-beom's alleged violation of a bus-only lane drew controversy, and his former agency issued a statement.
On the 22nd, according to a media report, Ryu Seung-beom was reportedly caught using a bus-only lane several times while personally driving the agency vehicle, a Carnival, during filming of the 2024 Netflix movie Good News.
In response, former agency Y1 Entertainment on the 23rd said, "First, we sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people due to the report concerning our actor."
The agency said, "As a result of our review, we confirmed that a fine was imposed for violating the bus-only lane while operating a company vehicle during the schedule," and explained, "The fine was paid immediately upon confirmation of the notice."
They added, "Regardless of the reason, we bow our heads and apologize for failing to strictly comply with traffic regulations. We will take greater care in internal on-site management so that related laws and regulations are strictly observed when operating vehicles in the future."
Ryu Seung-beom married a Slovakian painter 10 years his junior after three years of dating in 2020, and announced the birth of a daughter the same year. He continues to work between Korea and Slovakia, and on the 22nd announced the end of his exclusive contract with Y1 Entertainment.
