The country's first sustainable environmental music festival aiming for carbon neutrality, the 'Sustainable Wave Festival,' opens a new performance paradigm in the era of the climate crisis.
The Sustainable Wave Festival will be held at Incheon Munhak Stadium on Aug. 29 and 30.
The festival aims to raise public awareness of climate change and is an eco-friendly performance project planned as a "concert aiming to be the country's first carbon neutral," and under the slogan START WAVE — small beginnings, big change, it will implement various eco-friendly operation systems and environmental campaigns.
The Sustainable Wave Festival is expected to establish itself as a new type of festival combining environment and culture. The organizers planned this event to reflect sustainability in stage production and the overall program so that audiences can enjoy music while naturally experiencing the eco-friendly message. Through this, it aims to present a new paradigm for the domestic performance industry and is expected to be a meaningful example of how culture can practice social responsibility in the era of the climate crisis.
Lee Seoyoon, CEO of the organizing company, said the festival will lead phased changes starting from practicable areas so that audiences, corporations, and the government can all raise interest in carbon neutrality together.
