drama 'Goblin' returns with its legendary cast for its 10th anniversary.
tvN's new variety show "Together and radiant god - Goblin 10th anniversary trip (hereinafter Goblin 10th anniversary trip)" released its first teaser video today (22nd), once again making viewers' hearts race.
The tvN 20th anniversary edition "Goblin 10th anniversary trip" will premiere on Saturday, July 4, at 9:10 p.m. This special was planned as both the 10th anniversary of "Melancholic and radiant god - Goblin," which created a global syndrome, and as the tvN 20th anniversary edition. The main cast of the work, Gong Yoo, Lee Dongwook, Kim Go-eun and Yoo In-na, reunite after 10 years and set off on a memory trip to Gangneung.
The released teaser forces legendary memories right from the start. The four people, who visited the Jumunjin breakwater in Gangneung, which served as the backdrop for the drama's legendary scenes, showed the same chemistry as ever. This is the symbolic place where Ji Eun-tak (played by Kim Go-eun) first summoned the goblin Kim Shin (played by Gong Yoo) in the drama. In the video, the drama's signature OST "Beautiful" and symbolic items such as the red scarf and buckwheat flowers appear, stimulating viewers' emotions.
The actors were also filled with deep emotion. Gong Yoo showed his excitement, saying "let's have fun today," and Kim Go-eun smiled, saying "it's really been 10 years." Lee Dongwook marveled at the passage of time, saying "has it already been 10 years?" and Yoo In-na showed her unchanged affection, saying "it looks exactly the same as back then, amazingly so."
The "peach couple" Lee Dongwook and Yoo In-na recreated the memorable scene, saying "remember? It's the color of the sea that appeared in 'Goblin'," and the "goblin couple" Gong Yoo and Kim Go-eun, who portrayed a thousand-year love, also evoked emotion with their still tender mood. Gong Yoo revealed his moistened feelings, saying "I feel strange," and Yoo In-na added an overwhelming comment, saying "I think I will never forget this."
'Goblin,' which aired in 2016, sparked a syndrome in living rooms by becoming the first cable drama at the time to surpass 20% in viewership ratings. Thanks to writer Kim Eun-sook's writing, director Lee Eung-bok's directing and the actors' passionate performances, it is still counted as many people's "life drama" even 10 years later.
The production team said, "Even after 10 years have passed, you will still be able to feel the nostalgic memories of 'Goblin,'" and added, "We plan to faithfully capture the emotion and fun of those days and the actors' strong chemistry, so please look forward to it."
